Management Accountant

MacGregor Black are partnering with a Leading Manufacturing Firm on the search for a Management Accountant. This is a permanent role based in North Yorkshire.


As the Management Accountant you will use financial information to inform business strategy and relay information from the Finance department to the Group Management team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in setting the strategic direction and tactical responsibility for day to day financial operations across group companies
  • Analyse company's accounts and advise on the financial implications of business decisions to aid growth and profit
  • Work closely with internal and external key stakeholders, providing financial support for activities across business practices
  • Drive KPI's across all areas of the finance function
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations
  • Analyse financial information for various inter group companies, to assist business profitability and growth
  • Prepare and review month end and year end journals
  • Prepare and manage invoice discounting ledgers
  • Prepare statutory and management accounts
  • Produce financial statements including P&L accounts, cash flow, variance analysis and commentaries
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations
  • Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budget process
  • Produce fixed asset register
  • Responsible for stock reconciliation including compiling valuations of remanufactured products
  • Responsible for posting and reconciliation of senior management expenses, including credit card and foreign cash reconciliation
  • Identify audit issues and discuss solutions
  • File statistical and statutory accounts with relevant bodies
  • Complete and file relevant VAT returns
  • Check and reconcile payroll reports

  • Establish strategy and best practices for all to ensure achievement of overall business objectives
  • Prepare the annual budgets and forecasts with all capital expenditure proposals as well as ensuring compliance with legal standards
  • Proactively work with Heads of Departments, Group Finance Teams, Commercial Teams and other departments to incorporate best practices into the business environment
  • Report on financial activities on a regular basis to the Senior Management team, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of the relevant KPI's
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
  • Ensure strong communication between all internal teams to facilitate exchange of information and in order to implement change and improvements
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to change, and the ability to lead teams through change with a growth mindset
