General Manager – Hospitality

MacGregor Black are partnering with an exciting Hospitality Operator on the search for a General Manager.  This is a perm role based in Edinburgh.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of a 900 cap venue, including bar service, food preparation, customer service, and live music events.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth, increase revenue, and enhance the venue’s reputation.
• Recruit, train, and manage a diverse team of staff members.
• Monitor and control operational costs, budgets, and financial performance to maximize profitability.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, licensing requirements, and other legal obligations.

What are we looking for?

• Proven experience managing a bar or venue setting, ideally with Music / Live events.
• Strong knowledge of the area, including an interest in the local music scene.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with the ability to engage with a diverse range of customers and stakeholders.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to make sound decisions to drive business growth.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including inventory management and cost control.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations and licensing requirements.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required by the business.
