Macgregor Black are currently partnered with a premium spirts producer on the hunt for a Packaging Technologist. This is a remote role.
Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, manufacturing, and suppliers, to conceptualize, design, and implement packaging solutions that align with brand objectives and market trends.

Lead the selection of appropriate packaging materials based on factors such as product compatibility, barrier properties, sustainability goals, and cost-effectiveness.

Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory guidelines and industry standards to guarantee the safety and integrity of our beverage products throughout their shelf life.

Conduct thorough quality control and testing of packaging materials and structures to assess durability, resistance to environmental factors, and compatibility with filling and sealing processes.

Drive sustainability initiatives by researching and implementing eco-friendly packaging alternatives, optimizing packaging designs for reduced environmental impact, and supporting the company’s commitment to responsible packaging practices.

Collaborate with packaging machinery suppliers and internal manufacturing teams to identify, select, and optimize packaging equipment to enhance production efficiency and maintain product quality.

Stay informed about emerging packaging trends, technological advancements, and consumer preferences to continuously innovate packaging designs and maintain a competitive edge in the market.

Lead or contribute to projects that involve packaging redesign, cost reduction, and process improvement, while ensuring minimal disruption to production timelines.

Provide expertise and guidance on packaging-related matters to various stakeholders, and contribute to the development of training materials and resources for internal teams.
Qualifications:

Previous experience in packaging development within the food and beverage industry, with a focus on drinks packaging preferred.

In-depth knowledge of packaging materials, design principles, and manufacturing processes.

Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to food and beverage packaging.

Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
